On Tuesday, Year 10 and 12 Art and Photography students spent an inspiring day at the V&A Museum with an immersive dive into the world of photography.

At the museum’s renowned Photography Centre, they explored powerful images spanning two centuries – from haunting 1820s portraits to bold contemporary works. Students were fascinated by the Camera Obscura and explored the photography library, sparking rich conversations about technique, technology, and storytelling.

Next, they ventured into the Theatre and Performance galleries, where dramatic costumes, intricate set designs, and immersive sound installations brought the world of stagecraft to life. The energy and creativity in this space offered students a fresh lens on visual expression.

The highlight of the day was a Street Photography workshop, where students hit the streets of Kensington, cameras in hand, learning to capture the pulse of city life – movement, light, and fleeting moments.

“This trip was a vibrant, creative journey that left everyone inspired to see the world differently.”Mrs Bird, Lead Photography Teacher & Teacher of Art
