Our Year 5 pupils enjoyed an exciting glimpse into life in Year 7 on Thursday 4 June – a memorable experience filled with discovery, teamwork and plenty of drama.
The day began with an immersive challenge that saw pupils take on the role of forensic investigators, tasked with solving the mysterious theft of Mrs Dickerson’s beloved Simba the lion. Stepping into the Senior School Science laboratories, the girls analysed evidence, examined clues and worked collaboratively to piece together the case. Demonstrating impressive observation and problem-solving skills, they successfully cracked the mystery – and had a roarsome time along the way!
Beyond the laboratory, pupils experienced other aspects of Senior School life. Following their investigative success, they enjoyed an indoor picnic lunch, which soon turned into a lively dance session led by our talented Year 10 GCSE Dance students. This provided a wonderful opportunity to experience the creativity and energy that characterise co-curricular life in Year 7 and beyond.
A highlight of the day was the chance to talk to current Year 7 pupils, who shared their first-hand experiences and offered reassuring insights into the transition to Senior School.
The day concluded with a vibrant science fair, where Year 5 proudly presented their findings and forensic evidence to parents, showcasing both their learning and enthusiasm.
It was a fantastic introduction to Senior School life – giving pupils a real taste of what to expect in Year 7 and leaving them excited for the journey ahead.
