Congratulations to Amrit for winning second prize in the GCSE Classical Civilisation category for the inaugural year of the Cambridge CA Essay Competition.
For the competition, pupils submitted a 1,000 word essay answering the question “Of the literary characters you have encountered in Classical Civilisation, who have you found to be the most memorable and why?” Amrit chose to discuss Helen of Troy, referencing numerous different versions of the story, visual representations and allusions in other texts.
The panel of judges consisted of Rosanna Omitowoju, Arlene Holmes-Henderson, James Watson and Stephen Kern.

Amrit received National Book Tokens for winning second place in the competition.
