Lucy, a Year 12 pupil, reflects on a memorable trip to Greece, exploring ancient landmarks and bringing classroom learning to life.

At the start of the Easter holidays, we enjoyed a trip to Greece.

Our first stop was the Temple of Poseidon where we observed the cliffside ruins and coastal views, built to honour the Greek god of the sea and located on the promontory of Cape Sounion.

In Athens, we were able to visit the Acropolis via the Theatre of Dionysus, immersing ourselves in ancient Greek culture. We then travelled to Delphi to visit the ancient sanctuary of Apollo, where we were able to explore remaining ruins, which included the Temple of Apollo and a stadium perched above, offering impressive views and historical significance.

Further visits to Mycenae and the Corinth Canal reinforced both the historical and geographical aspects of the trip.

Overall, our time in Greece provided us with lots of memories and gave us a deeper understanding of the topics we study.

A big thank you to everybody involved in making this trip possible.
