As part of our vibrant Black History Month activities across both the Senior and Junior Schools, we were delighted to welcome parent, Aba Hime to lead a special assembly for our Junior School pupils.

Aba brought history to life by highlighting the incredible Black British heroes and pioneer women who have shaped modern Britain. Her inspiring talk took pupils on a journey through the long and rich history of Black people in the UK, exploring the significance of the Windrush generation and shining a light on historical challenges like the Colour Bar. Through these powerful stories, pupils reflected on the resilience of these historical figures and gained a deeper understanding of the valuable lessons we can all learn from their courage and determination.

Building on these meaningful conversations, we are excited to announce a new initiative for the Junior School: the appointment of our very own Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Ambassadors. These enthusiastic pupil leaders will represent the Junior School on the school wide EDI Committee alongside Senior School students. Attending regular meetings and championing pupil voice, our new ambassadors will ensure that every child’s perspective helps shape an inclusive, welcoming community for everyone.
