At the end of a long winter term, the History and Politics department is looking back over all of the events it has managed to offer our students since September.

The department began the term with a tour of Parliament for our Year 12 and 13 History and Politics students followed by a walking tour of Westminster with Becky from Women of London tour company.

Since then, they have been beyond fortunate to host three stellar historians: Katya Hoyer, Wanda Wyporska and Bromley High alumna Lucy Betteridge-Dyson, speaking about the Second Reich, Women in History and Horses in the First World War respectively. Our pupils also helped to stage a fantastic Black History Month, which culminated in a multi-cultural own clothes day, a display of Nigerian dresses and a dedicated menu from our new catering company, Holroyd Howe. A superb opportunity for our students to celebrate their heritage and for us as a school to gain a better understanding of what shapes our wonderful students.

The department also looks back on ten inspiring student-led lectures for our History & Politics Society and wish all of our Year 13 students who are applying for History or Politics this year the very best of luck.
