Year 8 pupils Sadie and Lucy share their personal experiences of the recent Sports Tour to Malaga, capturing the excitement, teamwork and memories made along the way.

Over the Easter break, Year 7 and 8 pupils travelled to Spain to enjoy an exciting sports tour. Once arriving at the hotel in Malaga, we enjoyed a delicious buffet of a variety of food. The next day, there was a buzz in the air – it was our first day of training. The netball coaching was fantastic.  To be taught and coached by experienced players was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

On the third day, we also had a great training session in preparation for the tournament. Apart from that, pupils got to spend their free time by the pool, building friendships and creating new memories.

The tournament day was my personal favourite, and I think everyone would agree.  The sportsmanship was inspiring. Both year groups cheering for one and another was a huge esteem boost.  All the teams rallied well and had a great time playing netball under the sun.

A special shout out to our U13 team that won the U15 league – and Gabby who won Player of the U15 League. On the final day, pupils enjoyed fun activities at a sister hotel, including an amazing water park.

Another huge thank you to all teachers that attended and Inspire Sport for organising the trip.

Over Easter break, Year 7 and 8 pupils flew to Malaga for the exciting Sports Tour. Once we all arrived and had a well needed rest we hit the pool for a relaxing afternoon of leisure. After we settled into our rooms, we enjoyed a lovely meal and began to unpack ahead of what would be an incredible trip!

The next day, after an amazing sleep, we were all buzzing with energy and were so excited for our first training session. This was one of my most favourite parts of the trip as we got to work as a team and improve our skills together.

The next day we enjoyed another fantastic training session where we continued to work on our passing, skills, and shooting. Then we went to a beach where we let out the rest of our energy by playing volleyball, doing cartwheels, and dipping our feet in the sea.

Then finally, we had our amazing tournament where the Year 7 and 8 teams played hard and worked together as a team. It was an amazing experience that will be a memory forever!

Then sadly our trip came to an end, and we had to head home, but it is safe to say the Malaga Sports Tour 2026 will be a trip we all remember forever!
