Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fascinating trip to the Horniman Museum, learning about about world cultures, music, different species and the natural environment we all share.

The pupils participated in a workshop which consisted in sorting animals into habitat groups and using a classification key to identify different birds. They had the opportunity to examine some of the specimens and fossils such as many types of birds and mammals.

This trip also made the pupils more aware of the fact that species are constantly becoming extinct. They learnt about unique and exciting ways to help these poor animals and that in some countries poaching is still quite common.

“I liked the trails we completed. I found the exhibit with all the mammal and early human skeletons particularly interesting.”Bella, Year 6 pupil
