Today, Year 6 went to the Royal Festival Hall to hear the London Philharmonic Orchestra perform a classical programme for children.

The orchestra played ‘Symphonie Fantastique’ by Hector Berlioz which was written to tell the story about a woman he loved. The music tells of adventures in and around Paris. During the concert the pupils were taught to listen to certain parts of the music and identify different motifs. It was a fantastic concert which the girls thoroughly enjoyed.

‘It was a fun experience and I learnt a lot about Hector Berlioz, the composer.’Mia, Year 6 pupil

‘It was great fun to listen to the music and watch the orchestra play live.’Ridhi, Year 6 pupil
