Year 5 pupils took on a creative challenge inspired by The Odyssey, focusing on the mythical monster Scylla.

The pupils explored a range of descriptions of Scylla, discussing and critiquing how the creature has been portrayed in different versions of the story. Together, they identified key features – such as multiple heads, fierce expressions and a fearsome presence – which they then used as inspiration for their own interpretations.

Using this shared understanding, the pupils went on to design and create their own visual representations of Scylla at home. The results were a fantastic display of imagination and creativity, with each piece offering a unique perspective on the legendary monster. From detailed and dramatic designs to bold and inventive approaches, the standard of work was incredibly high.

A special well done to Connie, Clem, Emilia, Bianca and Jayashree for their particularly impressive creations – excellent work all round!
