On Thursday 18th November, a group of Year 12 Mathematics pupils visited the Emmanuel Centre in London for their Maths in Action trip.

During the talks, the pupils found out more about the use of mathematics in careers such as aerodynamics, the concept of mathematical biology and the beauty of circles and spirals in everyday life were all among the topics discussed. They thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by like-minded maths enthusiasts, listening and contributing to fascinating and unique presentations on areas of maths not often covered elsewhere.

The highlight of the trip was having a picture taken with Dr Jamie Frost, the creator of Dr Frost Maths website which was a very helpful resource during lockdown.
