Year 12 Politics and History pupils enjoyed a fascinating and enriching visit to the Houses of Parliament and the Supreme Court, accompanied by Mr Tagg and Mrs Freeman earlier this month.

The day offered an invaluable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experience. For Politics pupils, the tour brought to life key areas of the A Level syllabus—particularly the workings of the legislature and the executive—while History pupils stood in the footsteps of some of Britain’s most significant historical figures, including those involved in the campaigns for women’s suffrage.

A highlight of the visit was observing a live and passionate debate in the House of Commons on an urgent question concerning national security, followed by an engaging Parliamentary Education workshop. At the Supreme Court, pupils deepened their understanding of the rule of law and were captivated by the stunning Court library—so much so that it proved difficult to leave!

The trip not only broadened girls knowledge but also inspired their aspirations. Many are now looking ahead to futures in law, history, business, international relations, and politics.
