Year 10 pupils travelled to Shoreham, Kent for a practical training session in preparation for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition.
The pupils were divided into 11 groups with 15 members of staff present. The expedition enabled them to use their new navigational skills such as taking a bearing using a compass and using symbols on a map to ensure they we were going in the right direction.
Although the girls found climbing the hills quite challenging, they thoroughly enjoyed walking through the sunny countryside with friends.
“It was a challenging but rewarding experience and we all managed to complete our 9.15km walk successfully. We had an incredible time and cannot wait to do our real expedition in June!”Year 10 pupils Aliya and Sophie
