Recently, Year 7 classes had the opportunity to spend an hour in the impressive space dome brought to Bromley High School by Explorer Dome.

As pupils stepped inside, they were instantly transported into the vastness of space. The immersive show complemented their physics lessons, bringing to life concepts like the solar system, Earth’s seasons, and the mystery of day and night.

“We got to see how every star moves across our sky and how our own sun isn’t really that hot compared to others. The nebula stars form are beautiful”Katy, Year 7 pupil

Enthusiastic presenters guided them on a cosmic journey, weaving in tales from Greek mythology alongside astonishing facts from real space missions. Gasps echoed through the dome as dazzling visuals revealed galaxies, planets, and nebulae in breathtaking detail.

The dome’s ceiling shimmered with stars, sparking curiosity and wonder. Discussions about alien life ignited imaginations – could there really be something out there?

By the end of the workshop, Year 7 pupils weren’t just spectators; they were explorers, thinkers, and storytellers of the universe. The experience left them inspired, eager to learn more, and ready to share their newfound knowledge, ‘Is there life beyond Earth?’

“The dome experience was really interesting – we got to learn about our solar system as well as others beyond our own!”Holly, Year 7 pupil
