Year 9 and 10 pupils had the fantastic opportunity to experience an inspirational talk by the renowned author, Robert Eastaway.
Robert believes that there are two unavoidable topics of discussion in school, Arithmetic and Shakespeare. His talk opened up the idea of bridging the two and highlighted key similarities that aren’t immediately obvious, such as Shakespeare’s use of Iambic Pentameter being directly linked to the arithmetic concepts he may have been taught in school.
“I found the talk to be extremely interesting and eye-opening, with the topics covered ranging from the mathematics involved in music, to the first mediums of writing notes and poetry.”Fifi, Year 10 pupil
