The term has been filled with remarkable successes and true dedication from our girls and staff. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and it is always wonderful to look back and reflect on some of the highlights from the past term.
The ESU Mace and Public Speaking teams have made a strong start this season and have both progressed to the next round of their respective competitions, with the Public Speaking judges expressing how they admired the students’ warmth and charisma as a team.
We recently hosted the GDST Global Wisdoms Symposium, focusing on the vital link between Sustainability and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), bringing together students from 10 GDST schools for inspiring talks, workshops, and student-led discussions on tackling global challenges like climate change.
The BHPA have, yet again, organised stunning events including our annual Fireworks and Christmas Market, bringing much joy to our wider community. The Sports Department continues to engage our girls with record numbers of participation in clubs and elite success with members of our cricket team travelling to Dubai and our U16 netball team being crowned county winners.
We have more estates investments to look forward to, from new netball courts, an additional changing room block and our football astro coming Summer 2026. The Performing Arts Departments have produced back-to-back spectacular recitals, performances and shows. The Senior School’s Beauty and the Beast was utterly breath-taking, complemented by the heart-warming nativities and Christmas productions in the Junior School. The list is endless, but every day brings so much joy and learning to everyone in our school.
A special mention does need to go to one of our alumna – Dr Jennifer Townsend – who was recognised by the GDST as Trailblazer of the Year 2025. Jennifer is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty doctor and has been an immense support to our own Women’s Health programme in school. She works to reduce inequalities in access to health for women across the world and advocates for more research to be done in this area. Bromley High School fosters this type of fearless, forward-thinking resilience, ensuring that our girls feel fully equipped for life from the confidence gained in an all-girls’ setting. I see that daily in our girls and this is how they achieve such great things.
I wish every family a peaceful, joyous Christmas and a happy New Year. The Spring Term begins for all pupils on Tuesday 6thJanuary and I look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed and ready for 2026.
