Members of GDST LEAD studying the Enterprise elective attended their second online bootcamp run by LSE Generate, the enterprise arm of the London School of Economics.
During the day our Sixth Formers heard from a panel of expert speakers, and enjoyed practicing mindfulness from Peacebeams, a company that offers meditation podcasts.
First, they were welcomed by Baroness Minouche Shafik, Director of LSE and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England before discussing what makes a career valuable. They took part in a ‘reverse mentoring’ session with David Paparelli, founder and CEO of MCULTIVO, a coffee company that works to leverage farmer networks to increase income and improve livelihoods via coffee roasters worldwide. The team asked questions and ultimately decided whether they thought the company was viable.
The session finished with a fascinating Female Investor Panel discussing ‘Meaningful Money’, which was illustrated live.
The GDST LEAD elective provides our Sixth Formers with the opportunity to take part in a charitable initiative in which they gain and develop new skills and bring an entrepreneurial project to fruition. The leadership programme is also accredited by the LSE.
