Congratulations to Upper Sixth pupil Beatrice for being awarded the Heather Lawes Travel Bursary.  The Lawes family award up to £2,000 each year to support Bromley High School pupils going on a gap year or independent travel, in memory of their late daughter Heather who was previously a Head Girl at the school.

Beatrice has been a pupil at Bromley High School since Year 7 and is a talented linguist, also studying A -level Italian outside of school.  She will take a gap year before going to university as a student of Politics and Spanish. Her passion for politics and languages means she is eager to enrich her knowledge of other languages and global current affairs, and what better way than to immerse herself directly by travelling.

“I am extremely grateful for the Heather Lawes travel bursary, as it gives me the opportunity to backpack around South East Asia, a place I have dreamed of seeing for many years now. Having studied languages at A-level, my interest in travelling has only grown and this bursary allows me to step out of my comfort zone and experience new food, culture, language and religion.” Beatrice, Upper Sixth
