The Art department were delighted to host the A-level Art and Photography Exhibition Absence and Presence, in the Art Mezzanine this week.

The Sixth Form studio spaces were cleared to make way for an exhibition of work befitting any London gallery.  Our Upper Sixth worked tirelessly through two lockdowns and despite tremendous adversity they have produced work which is conceptually mature, visually sophisticated, and emotionally compelling.

The work presented is merely the pinnacle of a long period of development which our artists and photographers commenced shortly before last March.  From painting to animation to 3D modelling, the breadth of media explored illustrates the freedom our young creatives have in pursuing truly independent lines of inquiry.

Take a look at some of the artwork and hear from the artists:

"We are unimaginably proud of our A-level artists and photographers and are hugely grateful to be able to celebrate their achievements with the school community through this exhibition. As many of this year’s cohort are continuing their creative journey at university and foundation level we wish them good luck and look forward to seeing their work in the future."
