The inaugural SHINE session of the year brought together twelve girls from St James Hatchem School, New Cross School, and twelve Bromley High School Year 5 girls.

The Bromley High School SHINE programme is designed to raise the aspirations of pupils in Year 5, to increase their confidence, to build on their social skills, and to ease the transition into Senior School. While at the same time, SHINE gives them an opportunity to explore STEM subjects and develop their skills. An important aspect of our SHINE programme is ensuring its accessibility for participating schools.

With a strong emphasis on STEM and sustainability, the girls spent the day working in teams to solve an environmental crime. They had a great time, with lots of problem solving going on while new friendships were also made. SHINE will continue its illuminating journey until the end of June during which each school will spend three days immersed in this enriching experience.

As the sessions progress, the girls will not only expand their knowledge but also cultivate lasting connections and ignite their passion for learning and sustainability.
