As a follow-on from our PSHE topic ‘Living in the wider world’ last half term, Year 9 pupils attended a road safety talk led by Ann Hildary from Bromley Borough Council.
The talk enlightened the pupils of the dangers of the road and how easy a person’s life, and others, involved in the accident can be disrupted from a small mistake such as not wearing a seatbelt.
By providing pupils with road safety information, they are more likely to be safe and wary of their surroundings when they are out and about.
“We were taught to stop, look, listen and think before crossing a road to prevent disasters and to always check that a car knows you are there before crossing a road. The best way to do this is with eye contact.”Sophia, Year 9 pupil
