Year 10 and 11 pupils Amber, Sofia, Gulsen and Jess competed in the ‘Debating for Everyone’ competition.

New debater Amber competed with her partner Sofia for her first ever debating competition. The team found that their first round was weaker than they indented however they utilised this dissatisfaction to propel themselves to the first place in their second debate.

Overall, both teams were inspired by the day to day topics such as the World Cup and oil company issues were discussed in such a crafted and intricate manner. Participating in this debate competition taught our debaters a lot, including new debating tactics and how to debate with people of different styles or levels.

“Although it was challenging, as we were up against some very skilled debaters, I’m proud of how my partner and I did and am glad we got to represent Bromley High School.”Sofia, Year 11 Debater
