Over the past month our senior athletes have represented Bromley High School in county school competitions, resulting in two athletes being selected to compete in the English Schools’ Athletics Championships in July.

On Saturday 11th of June, the Kent Schools Athletics Association Championship took place at Medway Park. Bromley High School was represented by Faith and Sybil for the junior girls 100m, Nuriah for the junior girls 200m, Luciana for the junior girls 1500m and Alyssa for the junior girls 300m. All runners competed very well; Nuriah ran a personal best and a national standard time of 25.50s, Faith ran a personal best of 13.54s and Luciana ran a personal best of 4:50.07. Nuriah, Luciana, and Alyssa all came first in their races and qualified to represent Kent Schools at the Inter Counties the following weekend.

During the Inter Counties, Nuriah won the 200m by a wide margin, taking the full 10 points for Kent and despite the tough conditions ran a 26.53s. Luciana fought bravely but did not replicate her personal best on the day and was placed 8th with a time of 4:57.75. Alyssa came second in the 300m race with a time of 42.25s.

Following their success, Nuriah and Alyssa have been selected to represent the Kent Schools’ Athletic Association in the English Schools’ Athletics Championships in Manchester on 8th & 9th July 2022. Well done girls, we wish you all the best!
