Bromley High School was delighted to welcome the London Lionesses for a truly inspiring visit that celebrated women’s football, ambition and community.

To start the day, a morning assembly captivated Year 5 to 8 pupils as the Lionesses shared how their club is breaking down barriers and demonstrating that women belong at the very top level of football. Pupils learned about the wide range of career opportunities within the club, as well as the pathways available for developing players both on and off the pitch. The message was clear and powerful: football offers opportunities for everyone, and belief and hard work can open many doors.

Following the assembly, Year 6 pupils took part in a purposeful and energetic coaching session led by the Lionesses’ expert coaches. Despite the rain, pupils showed outstanding teamwork, resilience and determination throughout. They developed high-level football skills and even enjoyed the opportunity to play a mini-match, putting their learning into practice in a fun and supportive environment.

“It was such an amazing experience!”Immy, Year 6 pupil

The session was a wonderful example of the London Lionesses’ commitment to building people, not just players, and to fostering a strong sense of community. Their visit left a lasting impression, inspiring our pupils to believe in themselves and to strive for their full potential, both on and off the pitch.

“It was empowering as it made me feel I could do football and helped me get into the Lionesses’ spirit.”Amelie, Year 6 pupil

We are extremely grateful to the London Lionesses for their time, energy and inspiration, and we look forward to welcoming them back in the future!
