Dear Bromley High School Community,
On Thursday 24th April, we had the pleasure of hosting the launch of our Women’s Health project at Bromley High School. It was truly inspiring to hear from a panel of women who are leaders in the field of women’s health.
Our panel included Dr Jennifer Townsend, a Bromley High School alumna who is now a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology and currently serves as President of the National Surgical Teaching Society. We also welcomed Dr Mayoni, a GDST alumna and parent of a current Year 7 pupil. A former NHS colorectal and pelvic floor surgeon, she is now a TEDx speaker and Vice President of the British College of Functional Medicine. Finally, we heard from Bríd Ní Dhonnabháin, Clinical Operations Manager at Hertility, whose research focuses on fertility preservation, tissue cryopreservation, fetal and maternal medicine, and sexual health education.
At Bromley High School, we are committed to equipping our girls with the knowledge and confidence to thrive – not just academically, but in every aspect of their lives. We recognise that traditional education can often overlook the complexities of women’s health, leaving many young people feeling uninformed and unsure of where to turn. We want to change this.
Our Women’s Health project is about empowering our girls to understand their bodies and health with confidence. It spans all areas of school life – from Biology to PSHE, pastoral care to PE – providing holistic, informed education that prepares them for every stage of womanhood.
We’re excited to continue this important work and ensure our students leave Bromley High School with the tools they need to lead healthy, empowered lives.
