Five Junior School pupils had their first taste of playing chess for Kent schools when they played for the Kent under 11 girls school team.
Year 5 pupil Naomi joined Sophia, Avni, Emma and Isabelle all from Year 3, to represent Kent girls in the annual Inter-County Girls under 11 competition. Usually they would have travelled to the event, but this year it was held online.
“It was exciting to be chosen for the Kent Team. Although we couldn’t get together in person as a team, it was lucky that we could play online. It was really good that we could see our teammates and girls that we have played before but never met because it was on Zoom.” Naomi, Year 5
