Problem solving and collaboration are just two skills for the future that we actively promote at Bromley High School. The annual Bebras international contest on informatics and computer fluency, gives the students in Years 4 and 5 an introduction to using computational thinking skills to problem solve.
The contest is organised in over 50 countries and designed to get students all over the world excited about computing. The girls choose to collaborate together in teams of 2 or to complete the challenge independently. They recognise patterns, use abstraction skills and algorithmic thinking to solve the problems.
This year our Junior pupils beat our previous record and had a staggering 28 girls graded with distinction in their age category, with 8 girls scoring full marks and being awarded the “Best in School” certificate. Well done girls!
