Our Middle School Careers Fair on Wednesday 6th May was a fantastic success, filling the hall with energy and excitement as professionals from a wide range of sectors – including finance, medicine, media and sport – shared their experiences and advice.

Our pupils were outstanding ambassadors for the school, approaching guests with confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see them navigating the room with their careers fair booklets in hand, asking thoughtful questions and making the most of every opportunity. The competitive spirit added to the buzz of the afternoon, as many pupils eagerly took part in ‘Careers Fair Bingo’, aiming to connect with as many different industries as possible.

The event also highlighted the ever-changing nature of careers today. During the engaging ‘Celebrity Previous Career’ game, pupils were fascinated to learn that many well-known figures began their journeys in completely different fields. This sparked important discussions about transferable skills and the idea that career paths are rarely linear – reinforcing the message that changing direction is a natural and often exciting part of professional life.

Overall, it was a truly enriching afternoon that broadened horizons and left pupils feeling inspired by the wide range of possibilities ahead of them.

Year 6 pupil Jasmine reflected:

“It was clear how the speakers cared and were passionate about their careers – that is something I would like to have in my life and career.”

Katy, a Year 7 pupil, added:

“Work hard and you can achieve anything.”
