It’s been a busy Summer term for house competitions, with pupils across all year groups showing fantastic enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork.

This term’s house events began with the Spelling Bee and Cake Decorating competitions. Elmfield took an early lead with their strong spelling skills, while Izzy, Jade, and Zoe won for best decorated cakes. The cake contest was especially popular with Year 7 and 8, with Oakdene taking the overall win.

Speldhurst claimed victory in the Pet Photography competition, thanks to a standout photo of a frog in costume.

At the Quad Games, held on a sunny afternoon, pupils from all year groups enjoyed giant Connect 4, Jenga, table tennis, space hoppers, Uno, Twister, and chess. Speldhurst had the largest turnout and earned another win.

The Language Recital showcased impressive multilingual talent. Year 8’s Christalin won with a confident recital in Tamil, helping Elmfield earn top points.

Bromley’s Got Talent featured music and dance performances. Year 7’s Maya and Dusty impressed with a piano and guitar duet, while dance duos Maddie & Alana and Angela & Aaraby were runners-up. Speldhurst led overall.

Over 50 pupils participated in a Digital Detox, going offline for 24 hours and earning house points. Most participants were from Oakdene, who said they enjoyed the break from screens.

At Sports Day in Norman Park, pupils proudly wore house colours and competed across events. After a dominant performance, Oakdene secured the overall win.

It is with great pleasure that we announce Elmfield as the overall winners of the House Cup for 2024/2025! With eight event wins and outstanding participation, they celebrated their success with a special treat in the quad on the final day of term.
