This term, Senior pupils from all four houses took part in an exciting Public Speaking Tournament.

The competition began with two lively debates in Round 1. Speldhurst argued in favour of free education up to age 16, while Fernbank opposed the motion and secured victory. The second debate saw Oakdene propose that AI should replace teachers, but Elmfield delivered a strong counter‑argument to win the round.

Round 2 brought the finalists head‑to‑head. Speldhurst faced Oakdene on the motion that children should not be models or actors, with Oakdene emerging triumphant. Meanwhile, Elmfield and Fernbank debated whether parents should pass a parenting test before being allowed to become parents. Fernbank impressed the judges with their persuasive case and claimed the win.

After a series of thought‑provoking debates, Fernbank were crowned overall champions, demonstrating teamwork, confidence, and excellent public speaking skills. Well done Fernbank!
