Our Sixth Formers have the exciting opportunity to take part in GDST Lead, a charitable initiative that not only allows them to develop new skills and collaborate on entrepreneurial projects but also offers fun, hands-on experiences – like stepping into the shoes of the headmistress for a day!

This week, GDST Lead sixth formers organised a ‘Head for the Day’ event, giving Senior School pupils the chance to enter a raffle to swap roles with our headmistress, Emily Codling, to raise funds for their project. The initiative successfully raised £471.
Years 8 pupil Bella won the raffle and took on the Headmistress’s role. Belle took ownership of Mrs Codling’s office during her usual Thursday break-time ‘open door’ session with Senior pupils. Meanwhile, Mrs Codling went ‘back to school’, joining lessons such as geography and participating in a netball PE session in her Bromley High School kit, which she thoroughly enjoyed!
“I would like to thank the GDST Lead team for the amazing opportunity of being the Headmistress for the day. I enjoyed visiting Mrs Codling’s office. I received interesting feedback and asks from the teachers which we discussed. A bonus was the most popular request! My favourite part was the responsibility of making decisions with the assistance of my friends! Thank you to all the teachers who played along. It was definitely something I would love to experience again!”Belle, Year 8 pupil & Headmistress (but just for a day!)
