It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for our Year 5 and 6 netballers, competing against Sydenham High School, Farringtons School and Blackheath High School.
The Year 6 netball squad played in tough conditions at Sydenham High, with both a slippery surface and a cold evening to contend with. Nevertheless, they performed very well, winning three out of the four matches.
In the same week, pupils from our Year 5 and Year 6 squads travelled to Farringtons for some tough competition. Both teams demonstrated some excellent play as they worked the ball from midfield into the goal circles, creating plenty of goal scoring opportunities. The yellows had a great conversion rate, taking eight goals from their attempts and winning the game 8-0. The reds were up against a tough defensive pair for Farringtons, keeping the game close but were edged out towards the end, with the game finishing 4-7 to Farringtons.
The following week, 36 squad members hosted Blackheath High. All four teams were in action, with each team competing in fantastic fashion. The girls all showed progress throughout the game and their desire to win and play well was evident.
Well done to all the girls involved!
