Bromley High School was delighted to welcome back alumnae from across the globe for a very special reunion event. With alumnae travelling from as far afield as Australia, Tuscany and Lisbon, the occasion was a wonderful celebration of shared history, lasting friendships, and the enduring spirit of the school.
The day began with guided tours led by our enthusiastic Year 10 pupils, who proudly showcased the school and offered a glimpse into life at Bromley High School today. Members of the Head Girl Team also spent time speaking with alumnae, sharing their experiences and answering questions about school life, creating a meaningful connection between past and present generations.
Following the tours, guests gathered in the Dining Hall for a delicious two-course lunch. Amidst lively chatter, the room quickly filled with laughter and conversation as alumnae reconnected, reminisced, and celebrated their time together. Many eagerly shared photographs and anecdotes from their school days, reflecting on friendships, teachers, and formative experiences that have stayed with them over the years.
It was a delight to hear their stories and insights, and to discover firsthand the impact Bromley High School has had in shaping their lives. One alumna reflected, “It was a great pleasure to visit the school and to feel again part of something that was so important in our lives.”
Another commented on the current students, describing them as “even more impressive and clearly ones who will make their mark in the world.”
A strong theme throughout the day was gratitude. As one guest shared, “Thank you so much for all you did to make today’s event a success… it was all perfect.”
Others spoke warmly of the welcome they received, with one alumna noting “It was so good to catch up with so many school friends after such a long time… thank you for the very kind hospitality.”
The event also held special meaning for former staff in attendance. One reflected, “Although we are talking 50 years ago, their names and memories came flooding Bromley High School will always have a special place in my affections.”
Many alumnae spoke of the lasting impact of their time at the school, particularly the confidence it instilled in them. Their reflections were a powerful reminder that the spirit of Bromley High endures not only within its walls, but in the lives and achievements of its students, past and present.
As the day drew to a close, there was a shared sense of joy and fulfilment. It was clear that everyone had relished the opportunity to step back into Bromley High, reconnect with old friends, and reflect on the journeys they have taken since leaving school.
We are incredibly grateful to all our alumnae who joined us for this memorable occasion. Their stories, warmth, and continued connection to the school are truly inspiring.
