To mark Black History Month, today the school has been celebrating black culture and recognising the contribution and achievements of those with African and Caribbean heritage.
The pupils arrived in school this morning dressed in multi-cultural clothes to reflect their national heritage, raising money for a refugee centre in Brixton.
For lunch, the girls enjoyed a traditional Caribbean meal whilst listening to classic songs by leading black artists including Bob Marley and Marvin Gaye. The dining hall was decorated to celebrate the occasion and showcased mannequins dressed in traditional African dress.
Also this week the school is hosting Wanda Wyporska, Executive Director at The Equality Trust, who will be speaking about family history and identity from a mixed-race perspective.
At the beginning of the month, to launch Black History Month the school held a fantastic music and dance event in the new Junior School Performance Studio.
