Four Senior Debating teams competed in the regional round of the Oxford Schools Debating Competition, facing teams from across the UK and internationally.

Year 11 pupils Eniola, Annabelle, Mariana, Rowan and Evangeline, together with Year 12 pupils Audrey, Imogen and Lily, took part in a stimulating evening of debate on motions including “This House would televise criminal trials.” For both Imogen and Lily, this was their first time participating in a debating competition, an experience they found both rigorous and exciting.

The evening was also very successful – Rowan and Evangeline finished in the top eight, qualifying for the National Final at the Oxford Union Society in March. Their achievement makes them the third team from Bromley High School to qualify for the National Final in two years, underscoring the continued success of debating at the school.
