At Bromley High School, we are proud of our superb sports facilities which help develop girls’ love of sport and we are delighted that our newly refurbished Astro is ready for action!

Following our successful fundraising campaign, our Astro has been renovated with a state of the art playing surface suitable for netball, hockey and tennis. The new Astro, which replaces a 20 year old surface, is the highest level of sand-dressed pitch, improving facilities for our pupils to give them experience of playing on a quality surface and so improving their game.

It also means that the school can offer our facilities for England Hockey county level training and club matches which widens community access and gives our own pupils more opportunities.   We have also taken opportunity to upgrade supporting facilities providing team and umpire shelters, a dedicated spectator area with path access along one side of the pitch and repairs of the fencing and kickboards.

The replacement of the Astro is part of a larger plan which, subject to planning permission, will allow us to develop our sports facilities further with the aim being to build a multi-purpose pavilion for phase 2 in the next few years.
