Every fortnight, the school will showcase pupils’ art and photography work, highlighting their creativity and talent.

For the final Artwork of the Fortnight of the academic year, we are proud to showcase a wonderful banner created in partnership with our artist-in-residence, Year 10 students, and Art Scholars. It is inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem Hope is the Thing with Feathers.

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a bird to capture the fleeting yet beautiful nature of hope. The poem celebrates hope as a powerful force that carries us through life’s hardships, offering comfort, inspiration, and unwavering support. Each student designed their own bird stencil, drawing on personal and diverse symbolism, to contribute to a collaborative banner rich in beauty and individuality.
