Surrounded by world-class art and design, Year 12 artists and photographers spent an inspiring day at the V&A Museum discovering works to spark their own creative investigations.

In the morning the Art and Photography A level students explored the vast collections (the galleries span over 7 miles!), finding work that would inspire their personal investigations and making studies and records of them.  Highlights included the theatre and costume rooms, as well as the magnificent jewellery and ceramic collections.

In the afternoon they watched the London Finals of the Articulation prize – a national art public speaking competitions where they witnessed 7 engaging talks on a diverse range of artists such as Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Shilpa Gupta in the impressive Lydia and Manfred Gorvy lecture theatre. All students left inspired and in awe of both the collection and the articulate presenters.
