Reception pupils have been busy exploring the wonderful world of wool through a week of hands on, creative learning.
The pupils discovered where wool comes from and learned about the journey from sheep to the soft materials we use every day. They enjoyed finding out how this natural fibre is produced before being transformed into clothing, blankets and other textiles.
Putting their new knowledge into practice, the pupils developed a range of exciting textile skills. They had great fun learning to finger knit, carefully sewing their own creations and experimenting with colourful tie dye techniques. These activities encouraged creativity, patience and fine motor skill development, while giving the pupils the opportunity to express themselves through art and design.
It was a fantastic week of discovery, creativity and practical learning, with the Reception pupils proudly showcasing their colourful creations and growing confidence in working with different materials.
