Over 150 pupils took part in this year’s Music Festival, which took place over four days in the last week of term and was overseen by a team of expert adjudicators.

The singing classes were adjudicated by Laura-Jayne Hunter, a session singer who has worked with some of the biggest names in pop music; Tim Wells, Head of Strings at BYMT and an eminent composer of music for strings, oversaw the Strings classes; Steinway Artist and Head of Piano at BYMT Lora Dimitrova judged the Piano classes; and last but not least, Paul Harris, the leading expert in music teaching and education in this country, gave two talks on different aspects of musical learning as well as adjudicating our Woodwind, Brass and Recital classes.

On the last day of term, pupils from Years 7 to 10 were treated to a concert with all of the different class winners from over the Music Festival week, where the Bromley High Musician of the Year 2022 was announced.

Congratulations to Year 13 pupil Rosie who is this year’s Musician of the Year and has also been accepted on the prestigious BA Course in Musical Theatre at Italia Conti.  Rosie gave a superb and virtuosic performance of The Girl in 14G, a snippet of which can be heard on the Bromley High Music Twitter feed.
