For our Alumna of the Month interview, we spoke to Blessing Biokoro, Enterprise Architect at Vodafone Group
Can you briefly describe what you are currently doing?
As an Enterprise Architect at Vodafone Group, I operate at the strategic level across global markets. I am responsible for shaping and governing the overarching technology blueprint for the Core IT landscape, including customer systems, commerce, billing, and AI-enabled platforms. My role focuses on long-term technology strategy, setting group-wide architectural standards, and guiding key decisions that align global tech investments with overarching business goals.
What was your path after leaving Bromley High School, and how did you get to where you are now?
I studied Computer Science at university, completing insight weeks and work experience alongside my degree. I joined Vodafone on their graduate scheme as a Software Engineer and progressed through roles as a Solution Architect to my current position as Enterprise Architect.
What skills or experiences from Bromley High School have helped you the most?
I was always outspoken as a student, and being confident in voicing my perspective is a trait that has served me well throughout my career.
What was one challenge you faced, and how did you overcome it?
Learning how to hold onto a clear vision for yourself while navigating outside opinions. I overcame it by filtering out distractions and staying focused on my goals.
What advice would you give to current Sixth Formers who are thinking about their future?
Stay informed on industry trends and thoroughly research the real-world career paths associated with potential university degrees before committing to what you want to study.
Is there anything you wish you’d known about work or university when you were at school?
I recognised this early on, but I would reinforce that learning continues after university. In any career, you must always be prepared to keep learning and evolving your skills.
