On Monday 29th June, our talented Year 8 Art Scholars, travelled to the Bottle Factory in South East London to exhibit their artwork alongside pupils from GDST schools across the country. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase the pieces they have been developing throughout the year, and pupils were thrilled to see the breadth of creativity from pupils studying GCSE Art and A Level Art.
The scholars also took part in an engaging workshop on abstraction led by artist Megan Salisbury. The pupils were encouraged after the lecture to select a small section of one of their existing artworks and enlarge it, transforming it into an abstract piece. This hands on experience challenged them to think differently about composition, colour and form.
The event was a brilliant celebration of creativity and curiosity, offering our scholars a chance to grow as artists and connect with others who share their passion.
