Reception have enjoyed learning all about bees and the vital role they play in our environment. The children explored why bees are so important for pollinating plants and helping flowers, fruits and vegetables to grow. Inspired by their learning, the children used recycled materials to create their own beautiful bee gardens. They thoughtfully designed spaces that would attract bees and other pollinators, while also learning about the importance of caring for our planet by reusing everyday materials.
Reception also explored the work of renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, known for her distinctive use of dots and bold patterns. Taking inspiration from her artwork, the children created stunning sunflower dot paintings, experimenting with colour, shape and repetition to produce their own vibrant masterpieces.
