We were delighted to welcome the highly regarded Squire Stage Combat company to Bromley High School on Wednesday 3 June for an inspiring and energetic Stage Combat Workshop.
Led by one of Squire Stage Combat’s fully qualified instructors, the hands-on session gave pupils a fantastic introduction to the fundamentals of safe and effective stage fighting. With extensive experience of delivering workshops in schools, the instructor guided the girls through a range of techniques designed to develop both skill and confidence.
Throughout the workshop, pupils focused on key elements such as precision, timing, and reaction, while also exploring how movement can be used to tell a story on stage. Working in a carefully supervised environment, they learned how to create the illusion of combat while maintaining complete control and safety.
The session was as engaging as it was educational. Pupils took the opportunity to try something new, building physical awareness and performance skills, while having plenty of fun along the way. It was a wonderful example of learning beyond the classroom, enriching their understanding of stagecraft and bringing drama to life in a dynamic and memorable way.
