Our Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh teams enjoyed a highly successful two-day expedition in the beautiful Kent countryside, developing their navigation, teamwork and camping skills.
Despite a chilly night under canvas, spirits remained high, and the following day brought glorious sunshine as pupils continued to build their confidence outdoors. Across the experience, all 16 groups demonstrated resilience, cooperation and a growing sense of independence.
Jaia, a Year 10 pupil, reflected:
“What surprised me most about DofE was how much fun we had working together, and I learned that a positive attitude makes everyone feel better. I really enjoyed the whole camping experience and making our own food and putting up the tents. It made all of us more independent and responsible.”
With valuable experience now gained, the teams are busy preparing for their Qualifier expedition at the start of June.
