This half term has been filled with outstanding musical achievement across the school, from large-scale performance events to individual successes of the highest calibre. We are delighted to celebrate the talent, dedication and joy of music-making across our community.

Music Festival 2026

At the end of the Spring term, we were thrilled to host our annual Music Festival – a highlight of the music calendar. Over four days, the school enjoyed more than 500 inspiring performances, adjudicated by professional musicians Ross Power and Fiona Harris.

This year’s festival introduced several exciting additions, including a Showcase Concert to launch the event, a Film Composition Workshop, and a Self-Accompanying Vocal Class, all of which enriched an already vibrant programme.

The Festival culminated in the Musician of the Year Competition Concert, where class winners performed to a full Senior School audience.

We are delighted to announce that Francesca (Year 12) was awarded Musician of the Year 2026. Many congratulations to Francesca on this exceptional achievement, and to every pupil who took part for their commitment, confidence and musicality.

Junior Steinway Scholar 2026

As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in piano performance, our Junior Steinway Mentorship Programme continues to nurture talented young pianists from Years 5–8.

Last week’s Junior Steinway Recital and Competition showcased an impressive breadth of repertoire, with performances marked by confidence, individuality and musical maturity. The standard throughout was exceptionally high.

We are delighted to announce that Alice (Year 8) has been awarded the Junior Steinway Scholarship 2026. Congratulations to Alice on this well-deserved recognition.

London International Chopin Competition Success

We are also immensely proud of Ameli (Year 12), who recently achieved remarkable success at the London International Chopin Competition, winning both First Prize and the Audience Prize.

Reflecting on her experience, Ameli commented:

“I’m honoured and proud to have participated in this event and hope to continue studying and discovering more about Chopin’s style for many years. I was especially happy when Prof. Piotr Paleczny said ‘Your performance showed the best of Chopin’s style’, which was incredibly encouraging.”

This is a truly outstanding accomplishment – many congratulations to Ameli for this fantastic recognition.
