During half-term, Year 9 pupil Jessica attended the prestigious English Schools Ski Association (ESSKIA) Alpine Race Camp in Geilo, Norway. Selection for the camp is based on athletes’ performances in the ESSKIA dry slope races held across England each autumn.

Jessica joined a group of 20 young athletes, taking part in daily training focused on slalom and giant slalom (GS) courses. She had an amazing experience, making noticeable improvements to her technique and particularly enjoying the GS courses. Looking ahead, the next schools ski event, the 2026 Kent Schools Ski Championships, will take place on 10th May.

Over recent years, Bromley High School has entered teams with great success, and it is hoped that both Junior and Senior School skiers will be keen to participate again.

The school’s ski programme continues to be supported enthusiastically, ensuring young athletes have opportunities to develop their racing skills.
