The Year 12 and Year 13 Business students took part in an outreach educational visit to Cadbury World in Birmingham, accompanied by the Year 13 cohort from Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School.

With this summer’s Paper 3 Business exam focused on the confectionery industry, the trip offered valuable real-world insight into one of the sector’s leading brands. Students explored the 200 year history of Cadbury chocolate and even had the opportunity to design their own unique flavour by mixing liquid chocolate with a selection of confectionery – an activity enjoyed by some more than others.

“I never knew there was so much history in making chocolate.”Darcey, Year 12 Business student

Throughout the visit, the group engaged with interactive displays that illustrated how Cadbury’s branding and promotional strategies have evolved to maintain its position as the nation’s favourite chocolate. A presentation from the Cadbury education team highlighted key market trends and emphasised the importance of glocalisation in strengthening both national loyalty and global appeal. It was a thoroughly enjoyable, and very sweet, day for all.

“The presentation focused on how chocolate brands have remained competitive through merger and takeover activity.”Bethel, Year 13 Business student
