Year 8 pupils enjoyed an action-packed two days camping at Bushcraft in Penshurst Place last weekend.

On day one, pupils built shelters mostly using materials they had gathered from the woods. After lunch, there were highly competitive team games in the woods, including using charcoal to camouflage their faces. Later, pupils learned how to build a fire to cook their evening meal, lighting the fires using just flint and steel. The day ended with hot chocolate, biscuits, and plenty more games – a perfect evening!

“We were taught to work as a team to work through tasks, the activities were really fun. We had an amazing time!”Beatrice & Rose Year 8 pupils

On day two, there was trap-making, where tribes of pupils built and set traps to catch their teachers – using biscuits as bait! The activities wrapped up with more team games and bracelet-making before heading back to school. It was a fantastic two days that will be remembered by all.

“This trip was a great team-building experience and a chance to detox and bond with friends”Skye, Year 8 pupil
