This term, Year 4 have been investigating working within the 3D design package, TinkerCAD, using the 3D printer that the Junior School were fortunate enough to win from the Year 6 enterprise project with John Lewis.

The pupils looked at the differences when working with 3D compared to 2D and recognising how 3D objects can be broken down into smaller 3D objects.

To design their pencil pots, the girls have been using the measuring tools to accurately create the various heights and widths. They have enjoyed using 3D placeholders to create holes to store the pens and pencils. The pupils have also explored making name keychains and adding shape decorations to enhance their designs. They hope to have a couple of Tudor Houses printed before Christmas!
